YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I MEAN. That’s right! It’s about time for some Holiday48*! THERE’S GONNA BE SOME VERY AMBIGUOUS KRINGLES. What would you do if Mr. Pringle was your Secret Santa?
So guys! Let’s all get excited! That’s apparently what this whole annual me-making-a-journal-about-Secret-Santa thing has been about the whole time! Who knew‽ By this time you all know what Secret Santa is and how we roll. If you want to participate this year, let’s start off by having you post a reply to this post, so we can get a rough head count. Later we will have an official-looking form for you to fill out that includes you telling robot-joey your address and some basic interests and things you might want. If you’ve participated in the past, feel free to do so again! There is no limit to the number of times you can do this! (duh, shad)
There has been some debate as to the price that gifts should be, but I’m just going to go ahead and go with what we’ve decided in the past 3(?) years. $20 This is what we have decided is a fair price. You can get one $20 thing or a multitude of things that all add up to $20 or whatever you want! You can include shipping in the $20 limit or spend a few extra bucks, it’s up to you, just try to keep things at about $20 and we’re all set! There aren’t many rules about that, as long as you don’t rip off whoever you get. Which leads me to my next point.
This year, my goal will be to make sure that everyone gets a gift. Not that that wasn’t a goal in the past, but we’ve made some exceptions that in retrospect were a bad idea. These exceptions will not be made again. In order to participate, everyone else who is participating must know you. We’re a pretty tight-knit family by this point, so this shouldn’t be a problem. If you are regularly in #cl and talk to people, then there is no problem! People know you! Welcome, friend! Unfortunately, if you don’t do this, then there is a chance that someone won’t know you and you won’t receive a gift because they don’t know what to get you, or you won’t know the person you get and won’t get them something for the same reason. All three years there has been someone we’ve allowed to participate that did not follow through, so we’re just gonna go ahead and not let them participate this year, as well as anyone we might think will do the same thing.
So now I think traditionally the next step is everyone bug j2 to make the sign up form so we can start getting assigned Santas. (This step might take a while, as it always does, so we might as well get started early.)
