We’re doing Holiday48 again. Here’s what we need to do.
1. Give us some money for the server.
Server for a month costs $20. Any overflow goes to giveaways? and/or the #CL STICKER MACHINE pot. Everyone who signed up for stickers or secret tramp-o-whatever or gives me their address gets free stickers.
2. Make a website.
Okay, so this is what I’ve got for the website so far. Super bare-bones. The left panel is auto-refreshing and has the flash player, the right panel is navigable by clicking the small red linky things. CAN YOU MAKE THIS PRETTIER? Take the PSD file (the font is included) and beautify that ho up. Send me (j2) anything you make (or just put it in the comments or something). I can do all of the coding, I just need designers. Ducks and bugs need not apply.
3. Get music.
Same deal as every year. If there’s great stuff you want to hear on holiday48, link to it in the comments. If you HAVE great stuff on your computer and need to file-share it at me, sit tight – I will have a public FTP available shortly.
4. Broadcast.
This is where things get wild. You guys need to start hosting the show too, because it’s two straight days of programming and it needs to be good. Comment with your tentative availability and you will be guaranteed a timeslot. We will have the server set up at least a week before showtime and we will make sure each of you knows how to run the show. And I will make a torrent of the entire holiday48 library so we all have access to the music.
5. Make things.
Chet Farnsworth and I are working on his second ever Christmas album, or Christmas EP or something. It will be played on Holiday48, along with probably some live recordings we’ll throw together at the last minute. You guys should make stupid/awesome holiday stuff too. Give me anything you do and it will be used.
